a decision that changed many lives...
A knowledge on majorities thinker and minority thinker.... just reflect what you are and are you doing this rightly or wrongly.
A group of children were playing near two railway tracks, one still in use while the other disused. Only one child played on the disused track, the rest on the operational track.
The train came, and you were just beside the track interchange. You could make the train change its course to the disused track and saved most of the kids. However, that would also mean the lone child playing by the disused track would be sacrificed. Or would you rather let the train go its way?
Let's take a pause to think what kind of decision we could make.............
How do you decide?
No cheating...
What is your decision?
Most people might choose to divert the course of the train, and sacrifice only one child. You might think the same way, I guess.
Exactly, I thought the same way initially because to save most of the children at the expense of only one child was rational decision most people would make, morally and emotionally. But, have you ever thought that the child choosing to play on the disused track had in fact made the right decision to play at a safe place? Nevertheless, he had to be sacrificed because of his ignorant friends who chose to play where the danger was.
This kind of dilemma happens around us everyday. In the office, community, in politics and especially in a democratic society, the minority is often sacrificed for the interest of the majority, no matter how foolish or ignorant the majority is, and how farsighted and knowledgeable the minority is. The child who chose not to play with the rest on the operational track was sidelined. And in the case he was sacrificed, no one would shed a tear for him.
The friend who forwarded me the story said he would not try to change the course of the train because he believed that the kids playing on the operational track should have known very well that track was still in use and that they should have run away if they heard the train's sirens. If the train was diverted, that lone child would definitely die because he never thought the train could come over to that track!
Moreover, that track was not in use probably because it was not safe. If the train was diverted to the track, we could put the lives of all passengers on board at stake! And in your attempt to save a few kids by sacrificing one child, you might end up sacrificing hundreds of people to save these few kids.
While we are all aware that life is full of tough decisions that need to be made, we may not realize that hasty decisions may not always be the right one.

Why do i work the way i work?
At 8pm. I told myself, "it's still early for project."
typed out the report format. At 9pm. I told myself, "TV first, project later."
nothing was doneAt 11pm. I told myself, "u have 12hrs left for project."
nothing much was done.At 1pm. I told myself, "u have 10hrs left for project."
slow progress.At 3pm. I told myself, "u have 8hrs left for project."
slow progress.3.15am, and my brain still refuse to think.
Why do i work like that?
Do we really have control over our brain? What to think and what not to think?
Cause i keep thinking about useless stuff, and i want to stop myself from doing so.
It's time to keep myself busy again, away from useless thoughts.

On how influential Taxi Drivers can be
Took a cab to school today. Requested the driver to speed cause i'm about to be late. And oh my god... the taxi uncle kept talking about the elections
INSTEAD of concentrating on speeding. Keep yaking about how strong the workers party is. And how good Chiam See Tong is.
My response? "I'm not interested." Just kidding la. I just showed him a "do i look like i care" face.
wa lao... give me a break can?
On the tv and i see/hear abt elections..
Walk around the streets and i see election posters...
Check the letter box and i see election flyers...
Take public transport and i hear about the elections...
Watch tv mobile and i see/hear election advertisements that goes: "Saturday is polling day. Your vote is secret."
and
worst of all....
STAY AT HOME and either the candidates come knocking on the door... or they drive around the estate and keep shouting some languages that i don't understand.
*bangs wallKNS... Won't they ever get tired over the same topic?? zzz... irritating.
i just realised... taxi drivers can be a very influential figure. They can help to promote or badmouth just about anything!
oh yea, the only interesting thing that happened during the ride... the taxi stopped at the red light, and i was looking out of the window. (left side of the car) And i see this guy on a bicycle cycling towards the taxi i'm in. And he parked his bicycle in front of another car.(right beside my taxi) *this point of time i know there's good show to see* Muhahaha.. so typical of a singaporean
Anyway, wa.. that man was fierce!! He was kinda pissed off and he kept swinging his arms in the air while talking to the driver. I could hear him from inside the car. Just imagine how loud he was. He said something like... the driver being reckless, caused him(the cyclist) to fall.[probably suddenly drove our frm somewhere, or making a turn and nv see the cyclist] And yet the driver nv stop to help and just drive off.
oh my god. fucked up driver. And the cyclist? Brave. He can still manage to chase the car on a bicycle. Can see how determine he is to screw the driver's ass. haha
Well, no chance to see how the matter was settled. I hope the cyclist didn't pull the driver out and give him a good bashing.. cos if he did that then i missed a good show. WAHAHAHAHA
